Dr. Marco Gonzalez is a board-certified neonatologist with decades of experience caring for critically ill newborns across diverse clinical settings. A graduate of medical school in Argentina, Dr. Gonzalez completed his Neonatology fellowship in New York City before beginning his long- standing tenure with Envision Health in 1995.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gonzalez has served in Level III NICUs across South Florida, including a teaching institution at a Children’s Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. He has also taken on travel assignments at hospitals nationwide, including a Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas—gaining broad expertise in high-acuity neonatal care.
Dr. Gonzalez’s clinical interests include nitric oxide therapy, high-frequency ventilation, and neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NAVA). His care philosophy centers on supporting both the patient and the family unit, with a strong focus on minimizing pain and procedural discomfort while reducing the uncertainty families often face during acute, unexpected interventions.
A native Spanish speaker, Dr. Gonzalez is deeply committed to ensuring clear and compassionate communication with Spanish-speaking families. He also plays an important role in supporting colleagues and staff as they navigate cultural and social dynamics in the NICU setting.
